If you are not familiar with what they do to sum up the organization - they are smart hub for allocating funds to a diverse portfolio of non-profit organizations that are carefully vetted and fit into a criteria of more than a dozen issues affecting our communities and the planet. They were founded by the movie studios back in "the day" to act as sort of a united giving program for the entertainment industry. They still are and are perhaps one of the most organized and professionally run agencies in the non-profit sector that has engaged the niched community of show business and have effectively raised many many millions of dollars for their mission. I worked there for about a year and a half and was responsible for managing, overseeing and/or developing the prestigious special event fundraising programs that they stage year after year. My favorite program was co-producing TRIBUTE TO STYLE in partnership with the Rodeo Drive Committee two times with my favorite of all time - Andrea Bocelli Live on Rodeo Drive with an 80 piece orchestra and what felt to be the galaxy of the most important faces in fashion and showbiz and including the most powerful names in both industries. Lisa Paulsen is still at the helm and the success of the organization is much ado with that spectacular women she has the ability to swim with the sharks and parlay funding in a very powerful way.The list of accolades for that organizations work is extraordinary and many event that have become annual and much anticipated programs have impacted millions. Revlon Run/Walks for women in NYC and LA are perhaps among the most well known and cherished each year. I always look back at this opportunity to work with the smart and hardworking staff as a real blessing filled with great ongoing moments that changed my life!

As Senior Development Associate my general responsibilities were the production and management of an average of 12 fundraising events and development programs for LA's largest HIV/AIDS service organization in history. The issues of contrast faced by people affected by HIV/AIDS at this time were of paramount concern and the programs offered by the agency were life sustaining for a large population that relied on its support. The Commitment to Life featuring Barbra Streisand and over 24 A-list entertainers, The Annual Fashion program including Calvin Klein's Retrospective at the Hollywood Bowl and numerous high profile events that focused on numerous industries including fine art, professional golf, photography and performing arts were produced by the development team at this time. This work was both personally and professionally satisfying and will remain as one of my most cherished opportunities for growth and experience.
