Coordinated ESL / adult literacy efforts for 25 years as Library Director in New York and New England As Director of Manchester City Library (NH), I helped inaugurate the first first Literacy Volunteers of America (now Pro Literacy America) affiliate in NH. My teams and I sustained those still ongoing efforts for fifteen years with perpetual fundraising and grant getting and public relations effortsincluding televised and live programs. I continually recruited tutors, learners and staff; and helped develop high interest low vocabulary library collections reaching adult learners on an adult level as they gained greater and greater competency in English As recent Director of Bacon Free Library (MA) , I organized and taught an intermediate level ESL conversation group using materials from an existing ESL program at a neighboring library.
