With his wife and partner, Dana, he co-owns Dixon Design, a graphic design and visual communication firm located in downtown Danville, Kentucky.The two have worked behind the scenes for nearly 40 years, promoting the services and products of a regional clientele. With a high level of creative thinking and concern for marketing and brand objectives, their work yields on-target, cost-effective results.

Advised the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in cooperation with the Bicycle and Pedestrian Program.Helped boost the credibility and influence of the KBBC while making the case for greater accommodation of bicyclists and pedestrians as a key factor in solving health, environmental, and economic development challenges.

Responsible for the nine-course BFA concentration in Visual Communication, with evening classes composed of degree candidates, post-graduate students, and working professionals. Coordinated successful projects with NCR Corporation and other local institutions.

Created designs for brochures, monographs, booklets, catalogs, tabloids, schedules, posters, letterheads, mastheads, and forms. Involved in advertisements, displays, and outdoor graphics. All clients were from the university community: administrators, staff, faculty, and students. Created within and refined the existing visual identity program. Worked closely with the design manager and supervised staff artists, photographers, and student assistants.

Involved in producing annual reports, corporate printed collateral, brochure design, book design, visual identity programs, packaging design, exhibition and convention graphics, signage, film design, animation, audio-visual presentations, and product photography.

As a cooperative education employee for a total of six student quarters, held positions in darkroom management, production art, comprehensive presentations, and graphic design, including a "double section" in the Benelux market.
