I started my career with Austin Commercial working as an intern through the summer of 2013. I had the privilege of working on their joint venture project named BARA (Balfour Beatty, Austin Commercial, H.J. Russell, and Azteca Ent.) . BARA was responsible for building the New Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from college, I joined the Austin family returning to Parkland Hospital to see its completion. Southside Home and HLC Home Inspections were the d/b/a names for my multi purpose company. I provided services in rental property, rental property management, home inspections, real estate consultations, and real estate sales.I owned my business with the determination to provide the best customer service I could while also educating my clients in the various aspects of real estate.

I worked as a Project Intern with Austin Commercial on the New Parkland Hospital located in Dallas Texas. This project was a joint venture with Balfour Beatty, H.J. Russell, and Azteca Enterprises. This hospital is a 2.1 million SQFT, $1.3 billion project that is scheduled for completion in 2014. I had a diverse exposure in QC/QA, safety, office, field, MEP coordination, finishes, and many other areas associated with a large commercial construction project.

Huston DePue Labs is a service oriented company that provides testing, certification, calibration, and repair of equipment requiring quality standards to meet ISO/IEC, NEBB, ANSI/NCSL, and ASTM. Over my nine years of employment with Huston DePue, I provided technical services, maintained equipment database, and equipment test-point information. I trained and supervised shop employees on day-to-day operations and testing techniques, assisted customer technical needs, and on occasion performed shipping and receiving duties. I was also instrumental in updating and developing testing procedures for Huston DePue Labs.

I served in the United States Navy Submarine Force for four years being honorably discharged in 1997. I graduated from sonar school, typically a 20 week school, in 18 weeks and was assigned to USS Cavalla SSN 684 based out of Honolulu, Hawaii.During my tour on USS Cavalla, I qualified submarines within six months, about half the time typically taken to qualify, and received my “dolphins” (insignia designating submarine qualified) on top of the ice cap at the north pole. I qualified and stood various watches including Basic and Advance Sonar, held various auxiliary jobs such as maintaining sonar division’s classified information and firefighting equipment. As an E-4 rank, I was in training for Sonar Supervisor, a senior enlisted position of E-6 or higher.I achieved many awards such as navy good conduct medal, Navy expeditionary medal, national defense medal, two meritorious unit commendations, and many more medals, ribbons and letters of commendation.
