John Hensley is the founder and CEO of Ant Group. A natural entrepreneur, under his leadership the company has grown from a one-man start up to an award-winning global enterprise forecasting $35million+ for 2024 and trading in 60 countries with 55 full time staff employed in the UK, EU and the US.Ant Group delivers specialist ESD and cleanroom production consumables to the electronics, pharma, healthcare, biotech, defence & automotive sectors as well as providing global service, supply chain management and procurement outsourcing to manufacturing companies worldwide.John started his first company, Antistat, in 1987 with a small business loan of £2,000 from HRH The Prince of Wales’s Prince’s Youth Business Trust and gained immediate market penetration with a timely solution for global satellite and aerospace manufacturing at the height of the Cold War. That same entrepreneurial spirit and ability to identify trends and needs in technology sectors saw the emergence of further innovative, specialist companies to form, what is now, 35 years on, Ant Group: Antistat, Integrity Cleanroom, Cyberpac and Cygna.Having incorporated Antistat in the US in 2016, over the last five years the group have targeted and won a significant number of contracts to expand their reach across North America. In addition, 2020 saw the launch of Integrity Cleanroom in the US, also based in Texas to address the wafer fab and pharma markets through a dedicated team of industry professionals and ecommerce platforms.Global offices and networks have been established in Germany and in Texas, however the HQ remains based in Suffolk.Other features to John’s life rooted outside the immediate interests of commerce and family include a love of art. Contrasting with technology, as a collector and patron he has fostered research, particularly into historic portraiture, including recovering the lost identity of artists and sitters, and liaising with academics and museums across Europe and America. John’s entrepreneurial ambitions are counterbalanced, not just by art but by his interest in lines of the past with European terroir, with viniculture spanning across western and central Europe, including the culture of truffles whilst overseeing progress at his truffle farm in Romania. Similarly, he has a growing understanding of oceanic life, scuba diving worldwide.
