Dr. Klim is a Board-Certified Otolaryngologist Head and Neck Surgeon since 1993. Originally from Syracuse, New York, He received his undergraduate degree in biology at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York and earned his Osteopathic D.O. medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury. Dr Klim completed a year of medical and surgical internship followed by four years of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgical residency at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital, Detroit Michigan. He is a Fellow of both The American College of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and The American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He is the past President of the Medical staff, past Chief of the Department of Surgery, and has served as the chairman of many committees at OSF St Francis Hospital over the past 29 years. He founded U.P. Otolaryngology PC in 1989 and co-owned a private group practice until August 2016 when U.P. Otolaryngology was purchased by OSF St Francis Hospital and Medical Group. Dr Klimʼs surgical expertise includes: Image guided endoscopic sinus surgery, surgical treatment of adult and pediatric hearing loss, including hearing reconstruction for chronic ear disease, and treatment of tonsil and adenoid disorders, and obstructive sleep apnea. His special interests include: the comprehensive management of sino-nasal disease including skin testing and treatment of allergic rhinitis/sinusitis, and the treatment of facial skin cancers.Dr Klim lives in Marquette, Michigan with his wife Elizabeth Wilson D.O. John and Beth have retired from medical practice in 2018. They have two sons and enjoy the arts, music, skiing and wilderness adventure travel. They are both ardent advocates for a whole food plant based diet .
