Elected representative for the Huu-ay-aht First Nations; Portfolios have included Finance, Economic Development and Housing; current portfolios (2016): treaty implementation,law & policy development, LNG advisory committee and LNG negotiation team.

My principal responsibility is the creation of a monthly newspaper called Huu-ay-aht Uyaqhmis. Tasks include photo and photo-editing; research, interviews and article development; composition and proof-reading; and layout and design using Adobe CS3 products (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign).I also maintain the Huu-ay-aht website and have taken some.

Administrative and executive support to four elected tribal legislators and one elected tribal leader.

A part-time position, membership in the Huu-ay-aht First Nations Constitution Committee meant that I had direct involvement in the development of our First Nations Constitution. I was most heavily involved in the creation of the government structure and the dispute resolution system. Our community voted to accept the HFN Constitution with over.

Recently, I was appointed by the Minister of Advanced Education, Hon, Melanie Mark, to serve for one year as a member of the Board of Governors for Vancouver Island University. I am honoured to be appointed, and I will endeavour to do my best for the school from which I graduated.

I serve at the leisure of the Chief-Councillor, but have done so across two terms of office and take great pride in the opportunities to work together with our friends and neighbours.

With elections held recently in several Maa-nulth member-nations, the was a vacancy for Vice President for the Treaty Society. We discussed it at our meeting on 29 July 2019, and I was elected to serve as Vice President. I look forward to working with our CAO and our President Charlie Cootes Sr. of the Uchucklesaht Tribe to advance the interests of all.

As a part of being re-elected to Huu-ay-aht First Nations Council, I've been assigned once again to be a Director at the Maa-nulth Treaty Society. This is the organization that governs the common aspects of the Maa-nulth Treaty across the five member-nations: Huu-ay-aht, Kyuquot-Checklesaht, Uchucklesaht, Toquaht, and Yucluthletaht (sp).

In addition to Huu-ay-aht First Nations the other member-nations are: Ka:'yu:'k't'h'/Che:k:tles7et'h' First Nation, Toquaht Nation, Uchucklesaht Tribe, and Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ First Nation. Together, these five member-nations are known as the Maa-nulth Treaty Society, which represents its members to the Crown governments of BC and Canada under the Maa-nulth Final.

I was to locate and contact every member of the Huu-ay-aht First Nations (HFN), inform them of the Maa-nulth Treaty process and the importance of treaty enrollment for voting purposes and maintain a master list of contacts and membership. I chaired the HFN Eligibility and Enrolment Committee meetings that were responsible for processing the enrollment.
