John A. Maher is a retired attorney. He currently serves as an arbitrator on the American Arbitration Association's National Panel of Neutrals, which is comprised of retired jurists, leading attorneys in private practice and business persons. Since his appointment to the AAA's National Panel in 1987, Mr. Maher has represented parties or has served as arbitrator in hundreds of large commercial arbitrations.From 2015-2019, he served as Chief Counsel for the New Jersey Highlands Council. Mr. Maher, a seasoned litigator, previously served as principal of the Law Offices of John A. Maher, P.C. Prior to that, he was a partner with Hardin & Maher and an associate with the Wall Street firm Carter, Ledyard & Millburn. Over the course of his career, Mr. Maher has handled a number of large and important cases, in federal and state courts in New York and New Jersey. His clients have included a number of large corporations located throughout the U.S. Mr. Maher is a former prosecutor.
