As the Sustainability SME for West Coast operations at DPR Construction, the fifth largest construction company in the United States, I played a pivotal role in overseeing sustainability initiatives for high-profile projects in the education, laboratory, corporate office, and data center sectors. Specifically, I served as a Key Account manager for the sustainability on four Data Center construction sites for META/Facebook, where I led a dedicated team in implementing sustainable material procurement and tracking, embodied carbon accounting, Construction and demolition waste, Indoor Air Quality management, and the adoption of alternative fuel/electric construction equipment. Among my accomplishments, I established measurement and tracking systems for construction waste, water, electricity, diesel fuel, and material streams used in the field. Additionally, I spearheaded a companywide Zero Waste initiative across 35 offices nationwide, contributing to a more sustainable operational footprint. My role extended to performing carbon accounting for construction materials using OneClick LCA, collecting ESG reporting data, and completing questionnaires for real estate development clients. I actively contributed to internal research initiatives around Mass Timber and Low Carbon Concrete, shaping project strategies, proposals, and participating in competitive project interview teams. As a sustainability thought leader for DPR Construction, I produced white papers, conducted interviews, participated in podcasts, and presented at conferences across the country, reinforcing the company's commitment to sustainable practices.

In my role as a Senior Architect and Sustainability Advisor, I dedicated myself to advancing sustainability in the built environment. Through Overseeing the design and construction of 30+ LEED Certified Zero Net Energy high-performance buildings, I collaborated with businesses, municipalities, and utility companies to implement green building consulting, energy efficiency programs, and impactful decarbonization efforts. This involved meticulous coordination with Architects, Engineers, and Contractors to align construction documents with permits, optimize systems for performance, and seamlessly integrate sustainable practices around energy, water, site, and materials. At DNVGL, I served as the primary sustainability advisor for leading utility companies nationwide, including SDGE, PG+E, So Cal Edison, NV Energy, and Consumers Energy. This involved developing and managing energy incentive programs, contributing to regional sustainability efforts, and fostering high-performance building projects. Responsibilities also included creating regulatory code compliance training, energy efficiency programs, incentive initiatives for deep retrofits and new construction, and coordinating research and market analysis to advance all-electric design practices. A significant accomplishment was co-managing the Zero Net Energy (ZNE) Pilot Program for Consumer’s Energy, supporting all-electric, Zero Energy new construction, and renovation projects in Michigan.

During my four-year tenure as Chair of the Ocean Beach Planning Board, I managed community input and review of forty-four (44() new development / entitlement / coastal development projects in the town of Ocean Beach on behalf of the City of San Diego. In my role, I led the development of policies around local land use issues specifically impacting our community including Short-Term Vacation Rentals, Sustainable Building Incentives, protection of local tree canopy, outdoor dining, and accessory dwelling units (ADUs). Additionally, I spearheaded investigations into infrastructure concerns, such as street lighting, crosswalks, bicycle pathways, corrals, and signage. Most notably, we successfully completed a comprehensive update to our 40-year-old Community Plan and Local Coastal Program, ensuring a sustainable and resilient approach to guide Ocean Beach's long-term design and construction goals while preserving the health and vitality of the community.

In my capacity as a Project Architect and in-house Sustainability Project Manager at BNIM Architects, a top 10 sustainability-focused architecture firm, I played a pivotal role in leading high-performance building projects across the country. As the in-house Sustainability Coordinator, I specialized in implementing and coordinating 'Integrative Design' processes for diverse projects, including those in high-education, corporate, and research laboratory sectors. My responsibilities extended to managing regulatory compliance, green building codes, and sustainability rating systems such as LEED, WELL, and Living Building Challenge. At BNIM Architects, I effectively managed teams of consultants to execute, analyze, and optimize high-performance building data sets, focusing on critical aspects like energy performance, daylighting, natural ventilation, and envelope systems. A notable highlight of my tenure was serving as the Project Architect and Sustainability Coordinator for Qualcomm Pacific Center Campus buildings AY + AZ, both of which earned LEED Gold certification in 2016. Building AY further received the prestigious 2016 SDAF Orchids Award, showcasing the excellence achieved in sustainability and design. My expertise extends to other impactful projects, including UCLA's Win Gem Nano-engineering department (LEED Gold), Michigan University's School of Medicine (LEED-Platinum), Maker’s Quarter Block D (LEED Platinum), and Palomar College Operation & Maintenance Facility (Living Building Challenge Petal + Zero Net Energy). In the role of Sustainability Director at Cass Sowatsky Chapman and Associates, an architecture firm in San Diego specializing in military projects nationwide, I spearheaded the sustainability initiatives for 44 New Construction projects totaling $919 million in construction costs and covering 4.37 million square feet for the US Military. My leadership focused on adhering to sustainability standards such as LEED, Energy Star, and the Department of Defense (DoD) Sustainable Buildings Policy.Working closely with owners, engineering teams, general contractors, general Military Project Managers, I oversaw the design and construction processes, emphasizing a design-build and fast-track delivery approach. My responsibilities encompassed developing Construction Documents, coordinating material specifications and performance modeling processes, and implementing sustainable construction practices in the field in collaboration with design-build contractors throughout the United States.Among the notable projects under my direction were the Wounded Warrior Campus (P-1100, Hope & Care Center, and Headquarters Building), BEQ Packages 5&6, and P-601 Children’s Development Center. Through strategic project management and a commitment to sustainability, these initiatives showcased the firm's dedication to delivering high-quality, environmentally conscious solutions for military installations across the country.

Worked as architect in training for architecture firm in the east San Francisco Bay area focused on retail and big-box development projects. Created conceptual development layouts, performed architectural drafting, and rendering activities, collaborated on construction document sets, developed materials for development presentations at municipalities around the east SF-bay area. Served as in-house sustainability resource for clients to support large commercial developments complete entitlement processes with low impact design, stormwater management, and LEED Certification requirements.

Our management team oversaw the operations of outdoor marketing for the San Diego area. In my time at AArrow Advertising I managed a staff of 15 and a work force of +100 that focused on delivering high-quality, low-cost, urban marketing solutions directed at the target market for our clients.

At the Cliffs Resort I worked to provide the highest quality vacation experience for guests and visitors of the California Central Coast. During my time at the Cliffs, I served as an administrative professional responsible for front desk and telephone customer relations; hotel operations and maintenance issues; room, wedding, and spa reservations; as well as providing Valet Parking. In addition to working on-site, I taught Surf Lessons to guests staying at the hotel offered through stay packages.
