David Fagg, Managing DirectorJohn Anthony Signs was formed in 1969 by John Anthony Pleasance, manufacturing High Street signs from an 8000 sq.ft factory in Hockley, Essex. The company moved to a larger 20,000 sq.ft factory in 1983 and grew modestly, supplying signs all over the United Kingdom breweries and retailers.John Anthony Signs was bought out in 1995 by Frank Atton, originally the Production Manager and then Managing Director. A new drive with investment in the latest manufacturing techniques and staff skills moved the company forward, creating a financially sound platform and a widening client base. In 2001 David Fagg joined the team as Sales Director and in 2006 he became a partner, as the company grew and the momentum continued. David Fagg became Managing Director in 2020 when Frank Atton retired from the business. As the company began to expand, John Anthony Signs’ global reach began to develop with projects in over 53 countries. The workforce comprises of 50 members of staff; the average tour of duty being 15 years with an extremely low turnover of staff. All of the signs shipped around the world are built in our factory in Rayleigh, which is renowned for producing signs of the highest quality.Service, quality and the “can do” attitude of the company continues to breed success and strengthen our reputation.
