My objectives are to conduct and foster research, service, and education regarding the improvement of people's health, the causes of health disparities and lost opportunities for improved public health. My main interests are about how the environment affects health and what can be done to improve health through improvement of the environment. I also work to foster development of students into outstanding public and environmental health professionals.Manage an urban health research colllaboration at Georgia State University.Participate in community-based research projects.Conduct research into various aspects of community environment with the goal of creating healthy communities.I was a scientist at CDC working to understand how to make communities to be healthier places.I was a program manager for the USPHS Commissioned Corps at CDC, supporting over 600 medical officers, scientists, and other health professionals with workforce management.I was an environmental health scientist at ATSDR, leading and facilitating projects to assess the human health hazards associated with toxic substances in community settings (e.g., hazardous waste sites).I was a program consultant in the CDC injury prevention division, working with state and local health departments and non-governmental organizations nationally to develop injury prevention programsI was a program manager in the cardiovascular health program.
