With an extensive background in library and information services, I am well versed in customer service and communication. Understanding the needs of the customer and how to manage those expectations within the framework of the business is core to my skills.Continuous professional development and the willingness to learn and evolve is at the heart of my desire to achieve and move forwards. In my current post I have two additional roles (IT & Blackboard Support, Assistant Registrar). Both of these have further developed and been bettered by my customer service skills. Via internal training I am now one of the primary contacts for support (It and other) for our global network of students, staff and faculty. Issues ranging from passwords, O365 licenses and hardware installation as well as account creation in Active Directory. My skills in training and development were recognized by the Chief Information Officer who requested that I designed and deliver global IT training sessions. This is is an extension of the workshops I run on campus which cover academic skills. The increased use of online methods for support and communications build on the skills I developed as part of the Online Librarian Support service at UWE Bristol. I now spend a significant proportion of my time using bespoke remote support software as well as Teams to support customers across the globe.I am a key member of the Blackboard team. Every month (Schiller utilizes a monthly teaching system) I am responsible for creating and populating the course shells for faculty. I also provide extensive support for student and faculty with key plug ins, SafeAssign and Respondus Lockdown Browser. Alongside this, I create and deliver training for faculty on areas such as exam setting and grade book construction.
