Post-doctorate in Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine linked to the Pulmonary Research Laboratory, based at the Carlos Chagas Filho Institute of Biophysics at UFRJ, under the supervision of Prof. Patricia Rieken Macedo Rocco. Was a fellow in Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine (Marie Curie Research Fellow) at Queen's University Belfast, affiliated with the Wellcome-Wolfson Institute of Experimental Medicine (WWIEM) under the supervision of Dr Anna Krasnodembskaya (2021-2023). Research Fellow in Regenerative Medicine, under the supervision of Dr Anna Krasnodembskaya (2018-2020) at Queen's University Belfast. He did a post-doctorate (2014-2018) in Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine, under the supervision of Prof. Patricia Rieken Macedo, linked to the Institute of Biophysics Carlos Chagas Filho, at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IBCCF, UFRJ). Doctor and Master in Biological Sciences (Physiology). He completed a sandwich doctorate (PDSE-CAPES) at the Semmelweis University School of Medicine - Budapest/Hungary (2012-2013). Graduated in Physiotherapy from the University Center Serra dos Õrgãos (2007/2). He has experience in the field of Physiology, with an emphasis on Respiratory Physiology and Advanced Therapies in Respiratory Diseases, working mainly in the lines of research related to Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, lung inflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction and cell therapy. He masters techniques used in biomedical research, such as physiological measurements of lung function assessment (in vivo, ex vivo, in vitro), cell culture and analysis techniques, 3D models (PCLSs and lung organoid) and molecular evaluation techniques. He studies the therapeutic potential of extracellular vesicles derived from mesenchymal stromal cells in lung inflammation, premature senescence, mitochondrial dysfunction and metabolic reprogramming by extracellular vesicles, and molecular profiling of extracellular vesicles (secretome, transcriptome, proteomics and myrnoma).
