Johnathan has spent the last 36 years of his professional career working in the nonprofit sector – providing him a wealth of experience to draw on in his leadership role with CDVS. As a teen, Johnathan volunteer his time at his local YMCA (Montclair NJ). When he was old enough, he joined the staff as a lifeguard. He was so inspired by the youth development mission at the Y that he turned it into a career. In 1984, Johnathan became the Aquatic Director at the Hackensack (New Jersey) YMCA. Throughout his tenure with the YMCA, Johnathan progressed from developing successful aquatic programs, to delivering youth/teen programs as well as health and fitness programs providing him a well-rounded base on which to progress through the YMCA system. When looking for another challenge, Mr. Davis translated his experience providing direct services to a leadership position as the Senior Director of Program Services. Johnathan moved on to become the Vice President of Operations at the Springfield YMCA in Springfield (Massachusetts), Executive Director of the Rochester (New York) YMCA, Associate Executive Director of the Bethesda (Maryland) YMCA.Johnathan is passionate about engaging youth and teens in programs that promote and strengthen their current situation while providing for additional opportunities to expand their horizons in the present. It is this passion that drove him to create a program that started out as a weekly teen night and grew to be a collaborative focused on developing a teen center in partnership with six community-based nonprofits. When he had the opportunity to move closer to home, he became the Executive Director/VP of Operations at the Columbia North YMCA in North Philadelphia. While serving on the Executive Committee as Treasurer of the North Central Victim Services (NCVS) board in 2013, Johnathan was asked to assume the role as Executive Director.
