Camp counselor for Tar Heel Boys State, the Boys State program administered by the American Legion Department of North Carolina. Boys State is a summer leadership program for rising high school seniors focused on building a mock government and maturing delegates' understanding of the democratic process. As a counselor, I am responsible for the safety and advisory of delegates throughout the duration of the program, and I manage a group organized into "cities." I am responsible for facilitating the process of delegates politicking, campaigning, and governing.

Charter member, youth representative and advisor on the Steering Committee of TC STRONG, a youth mental health nonprofit organization and collaborative with the long-term vision of ensuring youth in Transylvania County feel confident and secure in connection, purpose, and hope.In this capacity, I helped organize school and community events, establish chapters throughout the school system sponsored by TC STRONG, and work with government, business, and community leaders to craft policies and initiatives to address youth mental health. I collaborated with other Steering Committee members in monthly team meetings as well as participating in network meetings with individuals or partners to the TC STRONG mission.
