Hi, I am Johnathan Rivas, a first-generation college student. I grew up in the small town of Grape creek, Tx, which is 15 minutes outside San Angelo, Tx. Grape Creek high school is where I graduated and found my first love, Tennis. Shortly after graduation, an opportunity to work at the Tom Green County Appraisal District was presented to me. At this time, I was also attending college at Angelo State University. After deciding to continue my tennis journey, it led me to Sul Ross University in Alpine, Tx. I played for a year there and chose business management as my major. After exhausting my resources in alpine for a year, I found the Midland/ Odessa area would have my best interest regarding athletics and academics. Since then, I am now a part of the U.T.P.B. Tennis team and plan to finish my business management degree. Over the summer of 2022, I also completed an internship with Community National Bank. Through all these different experiences, I have learned the value of discipline, teamwork, and hard work. Although my journey has been far from ideal, the experience and knowledge I have gained can bring value to any company willing to give me an opportunity.
