Current role:• Managing and delivering the council’s internal communications strategy, including helping to compile and deliver a range of communications programmes• Developing a new staff engagement function and managing a team of internal communications experts to deliver it• Leading the communications, change and engagement on a major transformation programme and line managing a communications manager to deliver plans. The Way We Work programme is changing the way all staff work by providing new technology and tools, and also includes an office move and shift to more remote working. It will complete in late 2018• Managing the internal graphic design team and sourcing external design where needed• Managing complex procurement projects related to improving the delivery of communications and engagement both externally and internally• Working closely with a private company contracted to provide back office and customer services to communicate transformation projects to council staff• Managing the council’s internal communications channels and channel strategyKey achievements: • Managed the internal communications for the council’s major transformation programme which saw two contracts go 'live' in 2013 (one with Capita which will save the council £125million over 10 years and another 'joint venture' which will save £39.1million by 2023)• Oversaw the introduction of three new intranet systems (in 2010, 2014 and 2017).
