John is a Managing Director in the PwC Strategy& Deals team, a group focused on Commercial Due Diligence (CDD) and value creation for major Private Equity clients, mid market / growth equity funds, PE-owned portfolio companies, and corporate clients in the United States, Europe, and select parts of APAC. John leads the enterprise technology part of the team, helping software investors evaluate new investment opportunities, develop 5-year growth plans, drive organic top-line revenue growth (via product, go-to-market, and pricing related excellence), and execute M&A (both transformative platform deals and smaller bolt-ons to add specific capabilities). John has helped evaluate and execute both large, take private deals (e.g., $5Bn+ enterprise value software company) and smaller series B/C type transactions (e.g., software companies with $20-100M of ARR).John has led 200+ buyside commercial due diligence, sell side market study, and strategy projects for Private Equity and corporate clients across a wide range of enterprise technology topics including cybersecurity, governance risk and compliance (GRC) and ESG software, legal technology, office of the CFO tech, HR / human capital tech, govt tech, construction tech, vertical SaaS, digital engineering services, digital transformation / IT services firms, managed service providers (MSPs) and MSSPs. John specializes in the intersection of commercial due diligence, product / technology due diligence, and disruptive change (e.g., transition from on-premise to SaaS, replatforming, artificial intelligence / GenAI as an opportunity and risk to the investment thesis).John was key in driving the growth of the team from ~30 people in 2-3 key offices to 500+ people in the US and 1500+ people globally. John leads the recruiting, onboarding, and training program for hundreds of new hires per year. John leads global initiatives around talent, training, tools/templates, use of new data sources, and artificial intelligence/GenAI.
