I will never forget the day he gave me a book, titled “The Four Agreements,” by Don Miguel Ruiz. That book changed my life. The four agreements are: 1. Be Impeccable With Your Word: Stay true to yourself at all times. Your words, your actions, and your character should align in any situation. Your word is your greatest power and should be used with impeccable care. 2. Don’t Take Anything Personally: Overcoming the ego and allowing the world around you to be what it is, not what you want it to be. Nothing that happens outside of us is personal. 3. Don’t Make Assumptions: All of the sadness and drama you have in your life is rooted in making assumptions and taking things personally. 4. Always Do Your Best: No more, no less. For as long as I have known him, Mr. Robinson has embodied these agreements. They are the foundation for the character that I am striving towards every day, and the reason that I will forever be indebted to him. "
