Senior Software Development Engineer (Ad Supply)Twitch Dec 2022 - Jan 2024San Francisco, California, UsI was the technical lead for a team of six engineers. I designed and implemented a migration of our ad rate limiting service to a modern architecture, and in the process improved the availability of the service to four 9s, while also reducing its infrastructure cost by half. I recovered up to 1 million ad opportunities a day by bypassing a bottleneck in our cache service's DynamoDB accelerator cluster by implementing in in-memory cache. I also founded the CDK Bar Raisers SIG to raise awareness and expertise around CDK at Twitch. We offered expert code reviews to any CDK developer and provided feedback to the builder tools team that owned many shared CDK libraries on their roadmap. -
