Initially I commenced on contract and undertook various projects – competitor research, marketing, employment intention surveys among others. Eventually I progressed to a full recruitment role after developing from scratch a Candidate Database which ultimately contained over 7000 resumes all assessed by me and retrievable using keywords. Outplacement Services and Career Management needed a new Manager. By virtue of having been made redundant twice and having been sacked once (another story for another time) I was eminently qualified!I worked with hundreds of individuals and groups from shop floor to senior executive level across a huge range of industries including Health, Banking, Manufacturing, Warehousing and Telstra.Working with Defence Personnel was particularly satisfying – admin and frontline – transiting into civilian life after, sometimes, a long career and, sometimes, after active service.

My roles across these entities included managing 25 corporate travel consultants, writing procedural and training manuals, managing the introduction of new systems. I was closely involved with the establishment of two joint ventures – Coles Myer Ansett Travel and Telstra Travel – both specialist corporate travel management divisions under the Ansett umbrella
