In addition to my role as Regional Service Delivery Manager for Airwave, I was also one of 12 trained National Major Incident Managers.This role involved not only the management of internal and supplier incident teams to resolve major network and managed services failures but also to represent Airwave as a critical supplier in the national infrastructure in the event of a National Emergency Services Major Incident.I was fully trained in the industry acclaimed Emergency Response Process and over the years managed a variety of network, software and integrated services incidents with a large number of major suppliers to the Emergency Services including BT, Cable and Wireless, Capita Secure Information Services, Thorcom and many other Integrated Command and Control Suppliers.This training was out to first hand use as a Major Incident Manager during both the planned G8 Gleneagles summit and subsequent terrorist attack on The London Underground. I was also specially selected to represent Airwave at a pre Olympics COBRA planning exercise and several Scottish Police Force and Government emergency response test events.
