My experience spans many years working for two well-known financial services companies (Norwich Union and Virgin Money), launching a Creative Services division within a large print management company, setting up and running a successful nursery school business and being the Managing Director and former co-owner of Norvic Ambulance.Starting out at Norwich Union in 1977, I had various roles within Pensions and Marketing before getting a call from my good friend Tony Wood asking if I wanted to be part of Virgin's new financial services venture, Virgin Direct (now Virgin Money).I had 10 fantastic years in the Marketing team at Virgin Money (1995-2005) and was at the heart of 18 successful product launches, including ISAs, the One Account and the Virgin Credit Card. I was proud to be recognised as an ambassador of the Virgin brand, and this resulted in working on various projects with Virgin Management.I left Virgin to start up a creative services division with the UK's largest privately owned print company, providing both onsite and offsite creative design work for organisations such as Virgin, Ladbrokes, Hilton, The Conservative Party, and Allianz. In 2007 my wife, Julie, and I opened two nursery schools in Norwich, called Once upon a time. Julie managed both nurseries on a full-time basis, while I looked after all financial and marketing affairs. In 2010 I invested in Norvic Ambulance and became a co-owner and Managing Director. On 30 April 2013, Norvic Ambulance's business was sold to a large American healthcare company. I now spend my time looking after the finances of our four Once upon a time nursery schools. Around 300 children attend our nurseries during the course of a week, and we currently employ over 60 staff.Specialties: Marketing creative services, customer communications, managing people and projects.
