John Barefoot has more than 30 years of progressive engineering, design, inspection, and management experience on transportation projects. Such projects have involved new design, roadway and bridge widenings, rehabilitation and structure design spanning both navigable waterways and active rail corridors. His extensive experience in the transportation industry means he understands what it takes to deliver a successful project. John can gather the right team to deliver solutions that address engineering, financial support, public interaction and responsive decision-making. He is well connected with government entities, familiar with the extensive expertise throughout KCI, and well positioned to create valued and strategic partnerships.John has written several elaborate programs for the design and analysis of bridges, including numerous spreadsheets for the design of splices, rebar, wingwalls, abutments, plate girders, moments of inertia, cracked section analysis and load distribution. Additionally, he has written finite element programs for the analysis of bridge structures and used GT Strudl, STAAD, and ANSYS for the design of bridge fender systems, bridge collision protection and seismic bridge design.
