John ran SopraSteria's £150M government business in the UK covering Central, Local and Regional government and providing enterprise scale transformation and run services ranging from consultancy, through ITO and systems integration to business process services.

Following the merger of Steria and Sopra, John was appointed to the role of Managing Director for the newly formed UK Central Government business (which includes all of his previous Justice remit).

In May 2012 John was asked to take on an interim role as the Managing Director of Steria's Justice Sector in the UK and to join Steria's UK Operations Board. In January 2013 this appointment was made permanent.

John joined Steria in 2009 as a Client Director in the Government sector. In January 2010, John was invited to join the Sector Executive Team and took ownership of a newly created P&L Centre encompassing a number of government clients including the DWP.Over the past year John's remit has expanded and now spans a range of accounts including Cabinet Office, DWP, Department of Health and the Ministry of Justice.

Northgate Public Services acquired Anite's Secure Information Solutions business in November 2008 as part of the overall acquisition of Anite Public Sector Holdings.John played a leading role in successful sale of the business to Northgate and remained as the Operations Director for his part of the business post acquisition until the successful integration of SIS into Northgate was complete.

Board level responsibility for a team of 180 solution delivery staff and all the operational aspects of the Secure Information Solutions business encompassing:1. P&L ownership of budget in excess of £20M2. Strategic development and business planning3. Operation of four lines of business: Consulting; Solution Delivery; Products and Customer Support Services4. Delivery of market leading solutions and services in a manner that meets or exceeds Customer expectations5. Driving higher margin performance through improvement in operational processes and practices and management transparency.

Board level responsibility for a team of 50 software development and services staff specialising in the development of bespoke component based software solutions, predominantly for the finance sector. P&L value circa £7M per annum.Took over the Managing Director's role when the previous incumbent left and managed the business through the period of its integration into the wider Anite business that bought it.

Board level responsibilies for all software and service delivery aspects of this small bespoke development company.

Led the Parsec Systems Ltd involvement with Newton Asset Management (subsequently merged into the Mellon Group) in the establishment of an E-Business function for the UK and mainland Europe.Involvement grew from initial consultancy engagement to management of all software delivery aspects of the E-Business department on behalf of the customer with a team of 50 (Parsec and customer) reporting in.
