As the Global Cities Director for Arcadis, John leads a global team dedicated to delivering outcomes that improve quality of life, safely and sustainably. The Arcadis Cities initiative positions cities to navigate the complexities by understanding the bigger picture; whether it is resiliency, regeneration or mobility focused. John was also the Global Water Director from 2015-2016; Arcadis’ Water business focuses on the entire water cycle - from source to tap and then back to nature.

John Batten is an Executive Vice President and the Director of Strategic Client Development for environmental engineering consulting firm ARCADIS-US. In this position, he oversees external and internal positioning for all four Divisions of the organization through public relations, brand management, advertising, market research, cross-selling opportunities, website content, employee communications, relationships with professional associations, and corporate social responsibility. He has more than three decades of experience in the water and environmental fields, focusing on the management of drinking water and wastewater utilities including public health issues, marketing and communications, customer relations, vocational training and system optimization.

For more than 15 years John managed the corporate marketing and communications functions for ARCADIS-US.
