I joined ATK in 2005 as an Electro-Optical Engineer after spending a year teaching high school physics at the Hillsborough County Science and Technology Magnet School. At ATK I provided optical design and production support for the AAR-47 Missile Warning Sensor. In this role, I have been involved in a number of Design of Experiments for different sensor level issues that affected production. One of the DOE’s involved a critical non-compliance with the optical interference filters used in the sensor. This project involved the evaluation of the coating processes across multiple vendors of the optical filters used in the sensor. To maintain sensor production he lead ATKs effort to assist the current vendor in fixing the issues with their coating process.I also worked on a tagging, tracking, and locating (TTL) project that utilized the AAR-47’s capability. I have also been involved in the evaluation of new technologies to utilized in upgrades for the sensor and support equipment. One such device was used to produce a proto-type tester for a MWIR tester that reduced the weight from 25lbs of the incumbent system to just over 3lbs.

Responsibly included managing a Cost Account Plan and Schedule. •Supported a business development effort to create a tagging, tracking, and locating (TTL) capability using the AAR-47. Responsibly included the optics system design and free space path loss. Development Programs •Evaluated emerging detector technologies that included AlGaN and GaN arrays for a new missile warning system from ultra-violet to short wave infrared •Developed sources for a proto-type MWIR tester that reduced the weight from 25lbs of the incumbent system to just over 3lbs •Supported several field data collections -
