My name is John Assounga and I am Mechanical Engineer, currently employed as a Wet Services Engineer in Joburg Gauteng, SA. I graduated from the University of Kwa Zulu Natal (UKZN) and I am currently completing my Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Witwatersrand (WITS). As an engineer, I relish the challenges that applying technologies in systems to make them not only operate at their peak and ensure that they can maintain that level of operation for as long as possible. I believe that systems are only as good as how long and how well they last. My experience as a Clinical Engineer taught me the importance of the technical expertise in the medical field and where I learned the in-and-out of the structures that keep our sick healthy.As a projects engineer taught honed my planning and implementation skills, whilst making me appreciate the importance of maintencance and optimization.As a Wet Services engineer, I am currently honing my skills in building services design, project management and cost control, with the vision to obtain my Professional Engineer Accreditation in the near future.My passions range far and wide, however as of late I have taken specific interest in the technical medical field, building services, programming and interactive arts. I believe that as engineers and human beings, it is our duty to use our gifts and passions to give back to those less and more fortunate than ourselves, in whatever shapr and form we can.
