I took my life savings and took a chance - nobody knew who I was, and On Q Financial was just getting started. Because of my success as an originator, I thought my skills would carry over into starting a new company. I was wrong. It’s all about leadership - how you show up each and every day, what you bring to your team, how you lead vision. In order to attract great talent you have to be a great leader. I did not have a proven track record. And so began my journey of learning… I was fortunate enough to begin a mentoring relationship with Jim Myers - and learned more than I could have imagined. Since then I have worked with and learned from so many amazing people, each bringing their unique style of influence and leadership. The dream of home ownership is something I have always been extremely passionate about. I was committed to learning and I focused on my vision to be the best independent mortgage organization in the industry.I've always known that determination is the most important attribute of a leader. I’m always thinking of ways to improve the Company. In recent years I have learned that agents of change are critical and can have much more impact than experience. It’s all about drive, determination, and learning agility. Millions of leaders have experience, but few are actual innovators. Smart people can learn anything and apply it to any situation. Innovation is rare. Individuals who act as catalysts for change that can make a company special, and we have many leaders with these attributes at On Q.
