EPSL was formed to develop software designs and associated IP for industry. EPSL jointly owns Eikos Software Systems with Girling & Company. Eikos software was used commercially for the first time in February 2007, the fourth version started commercial use at the end of 2020.

Started in Well Engineering and then moved to manage the P1 software product -- a time & cost estimating application using Monte-Carlo simulation.

Worked in 12 countries through the Sedco Forex graduate engineer programme then onto rig management & training management. Saw the internal workings of Schlumberger until the spin-off with Transocean and then had several years experience as a "pure" Drilling Contractor.
