Knudsen Construction is a general contracting/carpentry firm based out of Calumet City, primarily performing work in the Chicago area. My responsibilities for projects range from estimating and bidding, to project management, and billing the clients. We specialize in interior office and retail build-outs, however we have completed new construction, industrial, and data center projects.

At Olthof Homes, I was responsible for purchasing all contracts for the residential homes. I bid, negotiated, and awarded contracts for each trade category. I also maintained budgets and sales prices for the homes, and the home options. I tracked job variances, and worked with the construction managers to minimize variances. Olthof Homes was a wonderful company to work for, the partners strive to conduct business with integrity, which creates a wonderful work atmosphere.

I worked as a rough framing carpenter, on a small crew of 4 people. I handled all aspects, from deck to roof. I was able to learn a tremendous amount from the owner, not only how to build a home, but how to build the correct way, and how everything fits together.
