I write and maintain complex and ever-changing SQL scripts, functions, procedures, views, etc. for the University of Utah Development Office in order to produce reports for fundraisers and senior leadership, including in Salesforce and Tableau. I developed and lead a quality audit of all current Prepaid Gift Card products. I created the tools and trained 20+ employees across multiple departments and business units to complete the audit. As a result of my strong performance, my contract was extended and I assisted in other projects, including a peak season issues review and coordinating the documentation of all current department procedures and processes into a single manual.

I was originally hired as a temporary position to provide simple data entry support for a limited time. However, I took the initiative to volunteer for additional duties and I impressed the team. I was hired on full-time after only two months.

As a research assistant in the Psychology department at the University of Utah, I trained and supervised a coding group of four undergraduate students, I was responsible for monitoring the team's coding quality. I also performed complex statistical analyses of data and reported on the results.I was able to leverage the contacts and skills I learned in this position to successfully complete my own independent research project, including publication of the results.I clearly demonstrated statistical and analysis skills. I also learned a lot about supervising others by conducting ongoing training, providing support, and monitoring performance of my team of four. At the end of the process, I helped the professor write letters of recommendation for three of the four coding team members.

I was responsible for coordinating the release of shipments in the Portland, OR and Vancouver, BC ports. I coordinated with Port Authorities, US and Canadian Customs, railways, trucking companies, and Accounts Receivable to ensure that all requirements were met before releasing shipments. This position required working closely with professionals and customers. It also required extensive documentation and processing to ensure compliance with multiple agencies.I learned a lot at Hanjin Shipping about shipping and warehousing. My experience coordinating shipping schedules and working with trucking and rail companies sparked my interest in Supply Chain and Logistics, as well as CRM and ERP systems.

I was the floor supervisor for the Electronics department at Office Max. I supervised a team of up to four employees and I was responsible for customer service as well as maintaining and stocking the Electronics department. I also supported the Receiving Manager in accepting shipments into storage and getting stock out onto the floor.

I interviewed software developers and other departments, then assisted in translating that information into user manuals for the end users. I was heavily involved in formatting, editing, and layout for the user manuals. I helped create and update layout and style guides and I wrote and designed the training manual for documentation department. I also created and presented several PowerPoint documents for internal and external presentations.In this position, I learned about communicating effectively in writing and face-to-face conversations. I also gained extensive experience with MS Word and PowerPoint, as well as various graphic design and desktop publishing software.
