As a Senior Software Engineer in the Internet & Cybersecurity Research Department (ICRD), I served as the technical lead for multiple research projects focusing on secure communication and privacy. This work required expertise in software development, IP networks, network protocols, network anonymization techniques, applied cryptography and cloud computing infrastructure.Performed vulnerability assessments and penetration tests against mobile applications, websites, operating systems, and devices. Utilized methods such as MITM, network attacks, reverse engineering, stack-based attacks, and other methods. Documented results, findings, and mitigations to stakeholders. Built a diverse set of tools for binary research and analysis, such as a utility for automating the generation of function hooks using a Procedure Lookup Tables (PLT) in binaries.Created an abstraction library for cloud providers that generalized operations such as instantiating and releasing virtual machines across 10+ cloud providers. This library was implemented in Go and pre-dated technologies like Terraform but works similarly. This library was used to build a web application that simplified instantiating Layer-2 & 3 secure network connections using a mesh of VPNs using standard protocols, such as OpenVPN and Wireguard, and custom tunneling protocols.Advocate and mentor to help accelerate broader adoption of cloud computing (public/private), containerization, and using GitLab as a central platform for code sharing, review, CI/CD, and project management.

Software Engineer in Honeywell's Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) center of excellence. The projects I've worked on range from higher level integrated vehicle health management systems to embedded health and usage monitoring of mechanical systems. Experience executing full software development life-cycle on many different projects, short and long term, and with local or distributed teams domestically and internationally.Developed C++ software to extract additional diagnostic information from the communications bus in International Space Station (ISS) systems. I built a tool for Windows that visualized diagnostic data, enabling NASA engineers to review the station's components' status. This project improved diagnostics efficiency and contributed to increasing the metrics analyzed to determine the reliability of power and internal communication systems on ISS.Implemented algorithms in C++ to assess the health of clutches used in Apache helicopters. This project utilized test data and captures from in-use clutches to extend maintenance intervals and enhance the longevity and reliability of Apache helicopter clutches.Developed condition-based reasoning software in C++ for next-generation U.S. Army platforms, both manned and autonomous. I designed and implemented a GUI tool using QT/C++ for authoring Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM). Developed a maintenance reasoning application in C++, utilizing vehicle configuration, state, and logistical inventory to generate maintenance plans dynamically.

Designed server and client software for one of the first Unified Messaging mobile platforms - voice mail, email and faxes. This mobile communication capability was delivered to users via an attachment to your existing cell phone or with a cellular-capable PDA running embedded Windows.
