Current- Collaborate actively in realizing the City’s strategic objectives and initiatives.- Provide expert guidance in the oversight and management of departmental personnel. Skillfully oversee and evaluate staff performance, proactively addressing day-to-day inquiries, concerns, and training requirements. Initiate a range of personnel actions, including recognition, advancement, corrective measures, and terminations.- Contribute to the formulation, recommendation, and execution of the annual departmental budget. Skillfully project funding needs for personnel, equipment, materials, and supplies, ensuring meticulous budgetary oversight throughout the fiscal year.- Devise comprehensive annual and multi-year operational plans and strategies aligned with organizational objectives. Spearhead the implementation of objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards, ensuring the attainment of desired outcomes.- Fulfill a pivotal role as a liaison to the King County Board of Elections.- Offer administrative leadership to the department, maintaining dynamic policies, procedures, and directives. Provide expert counsel to staff on interpreting and implementing laws, regulations, and internal policies.- Extend administrative and operational support to the City Council and designated boards, commissions, and committees. Assume the Clerk to the Council role, responsible for facilitating meetings, distributing agendas, updating the website, and preparing information packets—meticulously record official Council actions as mandated by statute.- Serve as the authoritative Public Records Officer and oversee Public Records Requests. Implement and manage the citywide records management program, maintaining a repository of official records for the Council and affiliated entities. Responsively address inquiries and requests for information.- Function as the primary Notary, meticulously notarizing and authenticating all official City documents.
