My career has been focused on direct service. I did field case management with elders and then with adults with chronic mental illness. After finishing my first Master’s program in psychology, I worked in crisis outreach and then Emergency Department social work.Through another round of grad school at the University of Washington School of Social Work I had the opportunity to explore administrative and policy practice. I landed an internship with our county government here in Seattle and helped plan a multi-million dollar program to help divert people with substance abuse and mental health problems away from jails and Emergency Departments and into the services they need.Ultimately, I would like to work with high level projects that aim to reduce the problems of poverty and inequality that put people at risk for illness and criminal behavior.Specialties: Social Justice, Community Organizing, Project Leadership.Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Washington State, Alaska, Montana, Oregon, California and Texas.
