I established a 5 year strategic plan to achieve zero accidents aligned with corporate objectives. One of the key components of that strategy was the development of a national health, safety and wellness program. The program included proper operating procedures, training programs, a workers compensation management program and statistical reporting in order to ensure continuous improvement. This new program resulted in a 28% reduction in injuries and millions of dollars saved in premium costs, rebates and other indirect costs.

My responsibilities also required that I create balanced scorecard measurement tools both departmentally and corporately to ensure progress towards the achievement of the health and safety system goals.
