Associate Vice President, Data Management
CurrentKey Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to support the organization’s current and future data asset requirements. Monitor and evaluate emerging data management technologies.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of ~30 data architects and data engineers, ensuring optimal performance, skill development, and growth. Create a cohesive and positive team culture with clear standards and goals.Data Quality & Standards: Working in collaboration with governance committees, establish and enforce robust data and metric standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability. Determine and maintain sources of truth for critical data elements, ensuring data integrity.Data Architecture: Lead the data architecture team in designing and constructing scalable and efficient data architecture solutions and a roadmap to obtain, store, integrate and manage data (which includes regular documentation and review). Identify and implement new data architecture strategies to support evolving business needs.Data Engineering: Oversee data engineering efforts to maintain and optimize data architecture for maximum efficiency. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement new efficiencies in data engineering.Collaboration: Collaborate with operational and research leaders to understand their data needs and provide strategic insights. Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment between data initiatives and organizational objectives.Continuous Improvement: Maintain technical expertise and serve as a subject matter advisor on data management. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. Implement improvements to enhance data platform efficiency, reliability, and user satisfaction.Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to data management, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
