I led development projects from initial ideas to final product approval, with a focus on designing textiles and memory foam comfort solutions for mattresses and pillows under the WELLPUR brand for JYSK. As the leader of the product design team, I spearheaded the successful development of WELLPUR’s Generation 6, which resulted in a 40% increase in revenue.Additionally, I established a 100% trusted Quality Control (QC) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) office in Hangzhou, China, during the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite travel restrictions, I managed to set up the office remotely, ensuring the continued quality and compliance of our products.

I was brought in on a short-term project contract to manage the completion of Ivan Grundahl’s final collection, the "Spring/Summer 2019 collection," before the planned closure of the brand. Following Ivan Grundahl's passing in May 2016, his son, Oliver Grundahl, decided to honor his father’s legacy by completing one last collection before shifting his focus to his own passion for residential architecture.Oliver entrusted me with overseeing the production of the final collection, ensuring it was delivered to customers in a smooth and satisfactory manner, thus concluding the brand’s legacy with respect and professionalism.

I was responsible for building the Chinese division of Kabooki, which included establishing departments for CSR, Quality Management, Fit Technical, Lab, and QA/QC. The goal was to bring us closer to our suppliers and ensure full compliance with LEGO's stringent requirements, as Kabooki was a licensed partner of LEGO. This project involved navigating multiple challenges, including adhering to LEGO’s rigorous compliance standards while working in tandem with Kabooki’s HQ in Denmark, which did not always have the same focus on this project.The process of establishing an office in Shanghai was complex, as I was tasked with hiring 14 employees across various departments. Each department required specific expertise and compliance alignment, and I worked closely with my wife, Sassenach, who was a key collaborator on this project. Together, we built a team that thrived in a culturally diverse environment, which significantly strengthened our work and the success of the division.Despite the challenges of managing a team across different functions and dealing with time zone differences with HQ, the Shanghai office was a success. The combination of a strong, diverse team and a clear focus on compliance made the project a valuable asset to Kabooki’s operations and reputation.

Novoyavorivs'K, Ukraine

Third and last time ☺ I have been employed by Joha. As Innovation Manager, I played a key role in developing the Joha and 808 concepts, focusing on CSR, design, textiles, fit, and production optimization. I successfully integrated the Katvig and HammerThor brands into Joha's production, ensuring a seamless transition and maintaining high standards across product lines.From January 1, 2014, my wife and I were based in Novoyavorivs'k, Ukraine, where I spearheaded the development of a comprehensive fit system. This system ranged from baby sizes, through kids and teenagers, to men’s and women’s sizes, creating a cohesive and scalable solution across all age groups. My work also involved optimizing production processes to ensure efficiency while maintaining the brand’s commitment to quality and sustainability.

Suzhou, China

During my time at Oriental, I was responsible for managing several key projects as a Design and Technical Manager. I oversaw the startup of a new production company in Huaibei, establishing a cutting department, seven production lines, and a finishing department from scratch. This involved setting up everything from staff and offices to machinery and systems.I also led a fit system project, tailoring fits to accommodate various customer brands. Additionally, I managed the development of mini collections, delivering physical samples on a weekly basis. We streamlined the sample lifecycle to a 3½-week turnaround from concept and design to final collection delivery in Denmark.I was stationed in Suzhou with my wife and our three teenage daughters during this period, and we adapted well to life in China, creating many fond memories together.

Novoyavorivsk, Ukraine

This was my second time employed by Joha. As Innovation Manager, I was responsible for developing brands, concepts, collections, and fits in collaboration with a talented team of 18 designers, pattern-makers, and technicians based in both Ukraine and Denmark. I worked closely with this diverse team to ensure that our designs met creative and technical standards. Additionally, I was a member of the management team, contributing to strategic decision-making and driving innovation across the company's product lines.

Næstved, Denmark

I was responsible for the startup of Red Wing Outfitters' fit and collection, with the design team based in Denmark and production located in Poland. Despite the challenges posed by the working environment, I successfully built up the production operations in Poland. The relationship I established between the Polish production manager, who is a close friend and former colleague, and the owner continues to flourish even in 2024, which is something I am truly pleased about.While the project itself was a success, the working atmosphere was difficult due to the original owner being retained as an employee under the new ownership. This created a stressful dynamic, and although I had a great relationship with the current owner, I decided to step away from the role to protect my well-being and avoid burnout.

This was my first time employed by Joha, and it was an incredibly rewarding period. After a short time at the HQ in Denmark, I was stationed in Ukraine with my wife and our three daughters. This experience brought our family closer together, and we still have many fond memories from that time.Professionally, my work was a major success and laid the foundation for much of Joha's continued success today. I led several key projects: - Project Goal 1: Outsourcing of the patterns, marker-making, and sample development processes. - Project Goal 2: Optimizing and streamlining the fit system. - Project Goal 3: Optimizing fabric usage, achieving a yearly reduction of 3.6%.The processes and optimizations implemented during my time continue to benefit Joha, as they are still in use today and have been a significant part of the company’s long-term success.

Poland

I started at Haidi A/S as a pattern-maker and transitioned into the role of project manager during the last 1½ years. In this role, I was stationed in Poland, where I was responsible for outsourcing patterns, marker-making, and sample production. I built a sample sewing room to create patterns and prototypes for fashion brands, ensuring production preparations. Additionally, I worked on cost calculations for garment models, providing essential data for the sales department before production began.

Nøvling, Denmark

As Controller at Jörli Confection, I was responsible for overseeing the improvement of production quality and fit, with frequent trips to Poland and Turkey. The primary objective of the project was to enhance the fit and overall production quality from our manufacturing sites abroad.Following the successful completion of the project, I took on the management of fit quality and became head of the pattern-making, marker-making, and collection divisions. I worked closely with international production teams, navigating cultural differences and ensuring the social responsibility of our operations. This included implementing ethical standards for the treatment of production workers, ensuring they were provided with fair working conditions and respect within the factory environments.

At MaggaLoo, a small knitwear company in Ikast, I took on a multifaceted role where I functioned as a "do-it-all man." My responsibilities included pattern-making, marker-making, designing, purchasing accessories for production, and acting as a controller and collection manager for our operations in Poland. Ikast was, at that time, home to many well-established, second-generation textile companies, but MaggaLoo was not part of that wealthier group, and we faced a constant battle for survival in a tough industry.Despite the challenges, MaggaLoo was a fantastic place to work. I learned invaluable lessons in production, design, and managing collections across borders, skills that would form the foundation for my future career. Although the company did not survive, my time there taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of teamwork in overcoming adversity. It was a defining period in my professional journey.

Randres, Denmark

At the age of 21, I took on the challenging role of managing the sewing room at Falbe Hansen, a traditional menswear brand producing suits with a workforce of 150 seamstresses. The working environment was tough, and the leadership style was authoritarian, making it difficult for the employees. Many of the seamstresses I managed had worked there for over 40 years, and I quickly learned the importance of humility and respect for these hardworking women, who had endured so much over the years.As their manager, I was responsible for overseeing the quality of sewing and conducting time studies. My experience there deeply affected me, as I realized the challenges they faced, both in Denmark and at the production sites in Poland, where conditions for workers were similarly harsh. It was during this time that I made a personal commitment to advocate for more humane and socially responsible treatment of employees, a mission I would carry forward in my future roles.Although I knew I couldn't stay in such an environment long-term, this experience shaped my perspective on leadership and worker welfare, and I have since been dedicated to making a positive difference in every organization I have worked with.

I started at AL-konfektion during my vocational training and continued working as a sample maker after completing my internship. In this role, I was responsible for creating samples in the sewing room before production began and managing special orders. My work ensured that prototypes and special projects were developed to precise standards before they moved into full-scale production.
