I ran EGIAN as Executive Director on a part-time basis. EGIAN is the representative group for 15 of the International Accounting Networks and Associations outside the Big 4. My role, through the group, was to provide the members with a forum through which to collaborate in order to facilitate an exchange of ideas and information about key worldwide professional developments affecting the accounting and auditing professions in Europe. The European Commission (DG Internal Market) and Accountancy Europe has recognized EGIAN as the body that represents mid-tier International Accounting Associations and Networks within the European Union.I led and encouraged EGIAN to develop opinions and policy papers on specific issues for use by the members, for submission to key audiences such as European Union Commission, Accountancy Europe, IFAC, accounting standards-setters, national accounting institutes etc, in order to present the members’ position and influence in key professional developments across the European Union.Through myself and others EGIAN also presents views and opinions on the main regulatory and policy issues which are most likely to have an impact on the members and the profession generally.

I started up, grew and managed two business referral networking in the Staffordshire Moorlands. They meet at The Retreat Health & Beauty Spa in Leek. One of them was a leading group and showcase for the brand in the UK.

Working in the UK member firm of RSM International, the 6th largest global accountancy network, I led the tender for a place on a Framework Agreement, for Finance and Accountancy Services, with a major global energy/utility group. Having secured the opportunity my current role was to proactively commence the contract as UK coordinator.
