I am a chartered Building Services Consultant and engineer based in Belfast, Northern Ireland with 20 years experience in Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Engineering and over 20 years experience in electrical and electronic engineering. I have been Chartered for 19 years.I established CBS Consulting in early 2010 to offer non-compromising expert Mechanical and Electrical Building Services consultancy to industry throughout the UK and Ireland through a team of experienced engineers. We cover all sectors and project values, the most significant to date being the £268m South West Acute Hospital. We are based in Belfast with satellite offices in Newry and Strabane.In addition to M&E design, CBS has become a leading provider of dilapidations/condition surveys, artificial light impact assessments (ALIA’s) and design of bespoke low energy, heating, cooling and lighting solutions.We also specialise in fast track commercial refurbishments extending from offices to retail and leisure, incorporating unique lighting solutions and discrete covid-19 mitigating ventilation solutions.As an expert witness I am engaged regularly on cases throughout Ireland North and South, which range from building services related to industrial, marine, utilities and consumer products, including personal injury cases.My personal specialism is bespoke lighting design and I have been involved in a number of award winning projects. I have developed highly accurate, robust, software based assessment systems enabling CBS to produce LED lighting business cases, payback scenarios and simulations for every demand.I have been called upon to provide trouble-shooting services extensively throughout NI in respect to non-compliant, poorly performing & dangerous building services installations, including fire, electrical & gas safety related. Tackling fuel poverty is close to my heart and over the years I've offered advice on potential solutions in conjunction with local charity bodies.
