Smithfield Foods Inc, Smithfield, VA March 1984 – April 2020Sr. Director IT Infrastructure Operations, September 2018-April 2020 Led all facets of infrastructure including, Network, Telecom, Server, Cloud and Desktop, Plant IT support and services. Successful transition from physical datacenter operations to Azure Cloud and IAAS Cloud services. On time delivery was accomplished through effective planning, leadership oversight, vendor relationship management and inter team communication. Achieved 100% virtualization at all remote offices and plants. Achieved risk mitigation by reducing single points of failure while also improving responsiveness for business growth. Effectively managed a $25 million dollar operating budget, with a 95% execution of actual versus budget spend. Delivered three complete infrastructure builds for two new major distribution center construction projects and one plant acquisition within a 24 month period on time and under budget. Business operational goals were achieved through active participation in planning and execution against budget and established timelines. Executed Disaster Recovery services for cloud based services via vendor management and communications. Achieved RPO/RTO objectives of 1 hour/4 hour respectively.

Met the OneSmithfield corporate objective of a single operating company versus autonomous operating companies and IT organizations. Implemented a new fiber optic wide area network for 60 locations increasing bandwidth capacity exponentially. In addition, increasing network reliability through the implementation of 4G network failover capabilities and reducing overall telecom spend. Completed a 2 plant acquisition infrastructure buildout and a new plant construction buildout all on time and under budget.
