I have over seven years’ professional experience in the fields of scientific research and project management. My professional background is an MSc in Land and Water Management and BSc. in Management of Agro-ecosystems and Environment. During my MSc research, I carried out an Assessment of Land Degradation in Lake Ol Bolossat catchment in Nyandarua County. I successfully executed projects applying innovative participatory approaches involving the government agencies, local communities and private partnerships. I have been implementing research project funded by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) at CETRAD whose main objective is to improve sustainable water and land resource management and governance, secure environmental services, and deal effectively with inherent conflict in national and transnational river basins in Ethiopia/Eastern Nile and East Africa. Furthermore, I have been successfully organizing and ensuring timely delivery of the short training courses held yearly by CETRAD. This, in particular, involved contacting the resource persons, mobilizing the participants, preparation of training timetable and budgets. I also prepared departmental work plans and budgets for approval by CETRAD management committee and also ensured timely implementation and subsequent reporting of the approved activities.In addition, I managed three environmental conservation projects implemented by Nanyuki River Water Users Association funded by DANIDA through CDTF in Nanyuki sub catchment, Nyeri and Laikipia, Counties. The projects are forest rehabilitation through tree planting and establishment of tree nurseries; control of river pollution through construction of oil-water separator for a car wash enterprise; and capacity building and awareness creation for local communities as well as Project Implementation Committee (PIC). I also initiated several projects such as water provision to local communities, poverty alleviation through initiation of IGAs and information sharing and dissemination under the same funding.
