As the Regional Head of DevOps and Delivery for Pactera's Asia-Pacific business group, I led a team of over 100 consultants across Singapore and Hong Kong, working work with some of the largest brands in the region.Pactera is a digitally focused organisation, specialising in Design Thinking, Lean Innovation, Agile delivery, and DevOps. We work with our clients to build beautiful interaction experiences. Much of this work is in the area of traditional digital channels such as web sites and mobile apps, where we focus heavily on responsive design with an emphasis on intuitive user interfaces and web accessibility. We also pioneer leading-edge applications of AI (e.g. chatbots) inside voice/messaging applications (e.g. Siri, Amazon Echo, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, WeChat) which transcend traditional digital channels to deliver seamless customer experiences.

Delivered large-scale Transformation program of work for Telstra Global in Hong Kong, where the company was expanding from a pure network play into network applications and services (Cloud, Unified Communications and Managed Devices). Simulaneously, headed the Application Development and Testing Centre of Excellence within Pactera's Communications, Media and Utilities division. Our diverse team consisted of developers, testers, database administrators, business intelligence analysts and systems analysts spread across Melbourne, Sydney, Wollongong, Hong Kong and Shanghai. We provided application development, testing and operational resources across web and mobile (iOS and Android) domains, as well as advisory services and implementation execution in the areas of API exposure, test automation, continuous integration/continuous delivery, and Agile delivery and PMO.

Led Telstra direct carrier billing efforts including integration with Google Play (Android), RIM (Blackberry) and Windows Marketplace app stores, growing revenue over 200% in FY12. Business owner and sponsor for both tactical and strategic video initiatives including VAST enablement of the Telstra Advertising network, a relaunch of new pricing and improved channel line-up for Mobile FOXTEL, linear channel streaming enablement for the upcoming T-Hub 2 device, and business and architectural input into the VIC (Video Infrastructure Consolidation) project, encompassing rationalisation of six siloed video platforms into a single, consistent framework. Program managed the Telstra Applications Integration Project (TAIP), allowing small (sub $100k) initiatives to be funded and delivered through a lightweight, agile delivery process.

Overall product management responsibility of 3G (including Next G™) and GPRS. Included overseeing introduction of new functionality and features such as the launch of Telstra's Next G™ network; ensuring that Telstra’s activation and billing systems were robust and accurate; redefining Telstra’s mobile reporting capabilities in light of 3G impacts; reporting on, and developing budgets and forecasts for Telstra’s wireless packet data performance; providing support as required to other product management, marketing and ITS areas; performing the role of mobile data Subject Matter Expert for BSS/OSS transformation; being the Principal Support within Products for the Consumer Next G™ Go to Market team; and analysing product impact of customer migrations from CDMA as part of the CDMA migration team.

Functions included: overseeing aggressive rollout to key branded locations, particularly hotels, McDonald's stores and Starbucks cafes; supplementing branded locations with rollout to unbranded "hotzone" locations using microlite and payphone infrastructure; evaluation of WiFi network acquisition and roaming opportunities, and implementation of Wireless Broadband Alliance international roaming; and reporting of product performance, including revenue, capex, opex and service levels.

Assisted the Senior Manager of Product Strategy on various near-term challenges facing Telstra. Major achievements included: overseeing the introduction of half-rate on GSM network to alleviate cell congestion; co-ordination of company feedback on MMS pricing; and development of Telstra’s Wireless LAN strategy, which ultimately translated into rollout and commercial launch of Australia's leading WiFi service.
