JDRF plant volunteer for annual fundraiser walk at the Mall of America.

Managed labor aspects of company/union affairs for the Ford Ranger Truck Plant, comprised of (1800) union and (100) salaried employees with an operating budget of $65M and production volumes of 250,000 vehicles per year. Researched explained, verified, addressed, explained and/or assisted employees with questions or concerns with employment information, benefits, FMLA, staffing, contract administration, compensation, payroll problems and entitlements. Maintained HR data for all employee records while ensuring data integrity. Co-founder of the plant labor Management Committee. Co-leader on a team that helped re-engineer plant capacity to one shift while maintaining aligned objectives by implementing new job bidding strategy after production buy-outs. Led the design of skilled trades outsourcing agreements that rescued the plant from imminent closure after skilled trade separation buy-outs. Integrated successful labor/management safety initiatives through improved communication with operators on mandatory ergonomics. Communicated, supported and helped to educate the hourly workforce on the importance of lean manufacturing principles, six sigma and cost reductions in the face of heavy competition in the domestic auto industry. Jointly led and negotiated manpower reductions and labor forecasting for yearly task reductions.

Worked in the body build sub-assembly area as a group leader. As a group leader I championed the FPS principles of our work area. Was responsible to make sure all sub-assembly areas were running as expected by process.

Hennepin Transfer Inc. is a subsidiary of BFI industries, now Allied Waste, which is contracted to operate the county transfer stations. Worked as a heavy equipment operator and tractor trailer driver. As a heavy equipment operator I loaded refuse into semi-trailers with bull-dozers and front end loaders. We used stationary tamping cranes to pack the trailers. As a tractor trailer operator, I transferred the refuse by tractor trailer to the burning plant in Minneapolis and processing plant in Elk River. I also serviced all the equipment and the transfer station with our process for preventative maintenance.
