John Lindberg has been in the security business since 1978. He founded Dial One Security in 1979. John currently also serves as President of the Austin Knowlton Foundation. The Knowlton Foundation which was established by 'Dutch' Knowlton in 1981 to support higher education in the Ohio area. Recent commitments include a $15 million to The Ohio State's College of Engineering’s new Biomedical and Materials Engineering Complex (BMEC), a past gift of $10 million to The Ohio State's Center for Aviation Studies, a $8 million gift to Wooster College for a new science building and a $8 million commitment to Oberlin College for a new Stadium, a $4 million gift to the Bluffton University for a new science and math building and a $9 million grant to Dennison for the Knowlton Center for Career Exploration. John was a member of the Cincinnati Bengals board of directors from 1991 to 2001 representing Mr. Knowlton's ownership of the Bengals. John is a current board member of The Ohio State Foundation and the a board member of the Camping and Education Foundation.John and his companies are active in the local community. His volunteer activities include working with the City of Cincinnati's False Alarm Reduction Unit's Citizen Education program, participating in the City of Cincinnati's Adopt-A-Block program, as well as attending many local charity functions. Dial One Security was recognized as a BBB Torch Award winner for Business Ethics in 2013.John's education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering with an option in digital electronics from The Ohio State University. He taught electronics and microprocessor programming classes at Cincinnati State Community College.
