Engineer of Record for the production of the co-product feed and tank agitation of corn-to-ethanol production. Responsible for the process design, equipment specification, determination of potential vendors, issue bid request, review bids, recommend vendor, prepare purchase documents, detailed engineering with vendor, update engineering drawings, monitor budget, coordinate project activities with other disciplines, monitor delivery timelines, commission / start-up equipment, train personnel on equipment, and resolve issues of equipment post start-up. Equipment included screw and drag conveyors, ring flash dryers, rotary drum dryers, fluid bed dryers / coolers, baghouses, industrial decanter centrifuges, fans & blowers, waste heat evaporators, thermal and regenerative thermal oxidizers, ductwork sizing & insulation, air-to-air heat recovery exchangers, tank agitation / mixing, and tank aeration systems. Find and evaluate new technology and equipment improvement for equipment to improve / optimize project costs, project delivery, and operation. Reviewed process for improvements. Acquainted with entire plant operation for knowledge of operational impacts, synergies, and troubleshooting. Accomplishments:Trialed, evaluated, and rejected new flash drying technology preventing co-product degradation. Degradation of the co-product would significantly impact plant economics.Lead team evaluating potential dryer vendors for long-term partnership. Partnership represented the potential for $50,000,000 over ten projects.Implemented improved model of decanting centrifuge reducing the number of decanters for the process. Achieved significant capital savings. Lead the commissioning of three greenfield projects.Participated in the commissioning of seventeen greenfield, expansion, or upgrade projects.Managed $100,000,000 in various equipment purchases for twenty-five projects.
