As an accomplished business finance manager, I have achieved notable success leading the development, optimization, and standardization of financial processes and controls for startup/growth-phase companies and established corporations. Over two-plus decades, I have delivered financial and business guidance spanning accounting, finance, human resources, business acquisition and integration, and strategic direction, realizing a repeated track record of improving accounting accuracy and efficiency, audit performance, and cost control.Most recently, as the Sr. Controller with Medicem, Inc., I managed all aspects of the US financial, human resources, IT and treasury functions including budget / forecast preparation and related MTD and YTD analyses templates. I implemented and documented various accounting policies and procedures for revenue recognition, travel & expense and payroll processing and enhanced the monthly closing process. I prepared the monthly financial statements and annual financial statements for board presentations and was the liaison with the 3rd party tax preparer.As a Financial Analysis and Controller Consultant for RGP, Civil Works and Crosslink Life Sciences from 2015-Nov 2021, I developed, streamlined, and standardized a range of finance, business, and HR processes for companies experiencing rapid organic and acquisition growth. Key initiatives included accounting reviews, financial statement preparation, revamping accounts payable, expense tracking, new hire onboarding processes, sales commission analysis, and travel and expense policy re-write. Previously, I joined CardioMEMS, a medical device startup, as Controller and advanced to Director of Finance and Human Resources/Controller as company progressed through clinical trials, FDA approval, and subsequent sale for $450M+. I played an integral role in raising $160M+ in debt and equity funding and structuring the acquisition agreement, and managed post-acquisition integration of finance and HR systems and processes. Prior to joining CardioMEMS, I took on a role with GE Capital as Manager of Accounting in its commercial real estate division, advancing from Manager of Billing to Controller for GE Capital Commercial Direct, a financial services startup that grew to $100M in annual revenue. Earlier experience includes role as Accountant and Manager with KPMG. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and completed a Leadership Finance Program in 2015.
