John played competitively on the PGA Tour of Australasia, numerous Pro-Am series throughout Australia, Overseas, and on the Gateway Tour in Phoenix, Arizona in 2008 and 2009.

In between touring, John worked under Head Professional, Rob McConnell, providing part-time coaching and managed the golf shop at the Warwick Golf Club. Here, he managed club competitions and facility operations including stock management, shop presentation, and club fitting. John also provided instruction to individuals and groups, as well as conducting Junior Clinics and Coaching camps.
