    Major research interests are to understand the multiscale, complex mechanical behaviour and failure mechanisms of the discs and mechanisms of spine disc degeneration, disc tissue injury and biomechanics, knee ligament reconstruction, soft tissue mechanics and hip implant micromotion. I conduct research on complex joint biomechanics using a custom developed, state of the art, six degree of freedom testing system (Hexapod Robot - refer to Projects section below).I manage the Biomechanics and Implants research facility, which is a 250 sqm (2,700 sqft) space, comprising of an experimental testing laboratory, a surgical skills training facility and a dedicated tissue preparation area.I teach Biomechanics and Solid Mechanics to undergraduate and postgraduate Engineering students.
