Currently contracted out to TotalEnergies E&P UK to carry out duties as a core crew Systems Technician for the Elgin Franklin field.The role is to provide operational support, maintenance and modification activities for the ICSS comprising of ESD, FGS, PCS and PSD applications.As the Systems Technician, I am responsible for 1st line support, maintenance, and minor modification activities for 3rd party packages including, but not limited, to: - HIPS- Addressable FGS- Metering Supervisory- Condition Monitoring- Pakscan- CMACs- 3rd Party HMIs- Data Acquisition SystemsSAP is used at site to control and monitor the maintenance workflow, typically in the form of PM activities, defect work orders and material management.I support Instrument, Electrical and Telecoms teams with fault finding, site surveys or commissioning activities. Typical roles and responsibilities as Lead Engineer:Progress technical solutions, as per client requirement, through the appropriate project life cycle either as an overseer or in a hands on capacity for a number of brown and greenfield projects typically covering Integrated Control Safety Systems encompassing PCS, ESD, F&G applications.Ensure that all modifications adhere to the appropriate Management of Change and revision control procedures. Where the scope includes safety systems ensure to follow Functional Safety standards IEC 61508 and IEC 61511.Provide technical and commercial support for a number of control system hardware platforms, namely Advant Master and AC800.Configure and support communication interfaces such as TCP/IP, Modbus serial communications, Foundation Fieldbus, HART instrumentation, OPC to and from third party systems such as compressor trains, drives, motor control, subsea and electrical switchboards.Configuration and support data hand offs between upstream control systems and downstream data acquisition systems.Management of small to medium size Control and Client/Server networks covering domain administration, patch management validation and installation, third party system integration, remote access platforms, networking connectivity, performance, availability, security and disaster recovery.Execute PCN audits covering obsolescence and Cyber Security.

Responsible the analysis, design, build, installation and subsequent support of engineering projects; primarily upstream fiscal metering supervisories and downstream data acquisition systems.In addition to my role a Systems Engineer I also undertook the responsibility for the day to day running and evolution of the company infrastructure utilising the skills and knowledge I had obtained during my previous employment at Aberdein Considine.

Providing first line technical support to 200+ users within a law firm with offices located in Aberdeen, Aberdeen-shire and Perth-shire. Typical day to day activities included; network and user administration, PC and server builds, technical support for a variety of software packages (both in-house developed and third party), telephone system management, scheduled preventative maintenance visits to all offices. Integration of new offices and respective IT equipment was a regular undertaking as the firm expanded into new areas.
